Can’t find any new good food to eat and post up. So i am just gonna randomly post pictures i have taken couple of weeks back and forgot to post up. =P
Update: Okay, i just realized that i couldn’t do direct linking from my existing http://www.myphotoalbum.com account anymore because i didn’t pay to extend my subscription. Right now, i am testing out PhotoBucket, which is free and provides direct image linking service.
This is my self made Yuan Yang. Which is a mixture of coffee and tea. Outcome was quite awful. Haha. But it did keep me awake for quite long.
This is my potato salad i had from starbucks previously. Quite yummy but i couldn’t finish everything.
Went to Curry Favor with Eric from Voice team that day and this is the salad which Eric ordered.
Ordered my usual Miso Soup.

Tomorrow is the first day of the RN Convention. I have to admit I was incredibly excited this morning as I packed my bags for the airport. The convention, however, has taken on a different atmosphere as everybody tracks the path of Hurrican Gustav. In light of the likely disaster, the actual workings of the convention have been reduced to the bare minimum business. Tomorrow’s session will only include the official opening of the convention and the work of the committees. There will be no prime time showcase speeches and President Bush has cancelled his appearance. Even some of the more public events have been cancelled as well. I think this is appropriate. It is hard to celebrate when a large contingent of the country is being evacuated from their homes. Today was a pretty lackadaisical one. I did absolutely nothing productive, which is the point of a Labor Day weekend, I suppose. Actually, I was feeling under the weather too.
One thing I am starting tomorrow is a new outlook on eating.
I’ve been overweight since I was about 12 and frankly, I’m sick of it. I’d like to know what it feels like to be thin as an adult and I also want to be healthier, especially since my recent (possible) heart scare. So my friend, Barbara, and I have decided to be accountability partners in a program that offers a Christian and Biblical solution to overeating called The Lord’s Table (TLT). It is through a Christian website called Setting Captives Free that deals with addictions including sex, food, gambling and substance abuse.

Another Sunday family dinner brought us to the much talked about Amici Restaurant along Tomas Morato in Quezon City. It was the 24th of August, my first time to visit the place (Yes, this post is long overdue…). A lot of people say that the place served good food and my family and I went there to give it a try. Amici was originally the canteen for Don Bosco in Makati, and then was bought by the former owner of Red Ribbon Bakeshop (now handled by the Jollibee group of companies).
Anyway, let’s go through some of the dishes my family and I had that Sunday evening:
Cannelloni Agli Spinaci (Php180), pasta dish consisting of spinach and ricotta cheese.
Spaghetti alla Pescatora (Php190), pasta dish made up of shrimps, mussels and squid.

I love Indian desserts. One particular favourite of mine is a milk based treat known as Burfi. It’s also spelled Barfi, which turns out is particularly appropriate in my hands. I tried to make it today. Well, you’ll see…
Recipe:
KAJU BURFI (Cashew Burfi)
Ingredients:
1 cup raw cashews
1 cup milk
¾ cup sugar, to taste
¼ cup ghee (or unsalted butter), melted
pinch of cardamom powder
2-3 drops rose water (optional)
METHOD:
Soak the cashews in the milk for a few hours (2-3 hours or more). Using a blender or food processor, blend the cashews, sugar and milk together into a fine thick paste adding more milk if needed.
In a deep skillet on medium low heat, add the cashew paste and keep stirring continuously. After 3-4 minutes, add the melted ghee slowly into the pan (in small increments) while stirring. So I was at Jack in Box eating my dinner and I was listening to my extra life podcast. Then I look around and see these two guys in there 40’s. Eating some breakfast since they have it 24 hours a day at Jack in Box. One of the guys got mad and started yelling allowed because his friend had more bacon then him. He got mad ask for his money back. I was just like what the fuck? The girl told him sorry sir he got mad at he left his friend at the restaurant. I was just stunned when this took place and I was telling my self it is only a peace of fucking bacon. Someone needs to go and take some anti- depressive pills.

So, the RNC begins tomorrow. I am, as tg puts it, “wildly indifferent” about party lines. I love and hate things about both sides. But one thing I also hate is other people’s urine.
Here’s the link to the story on the protesters who hoarded “buckets of urine” to pour on…people I guess?
I have a question for these folks: How does one collect that much pee? Do you stage a pee drive? Do you just, yourself, pee into a bucket for weeks on end? Did you drink extra water to collect said pee? Did some of the earlier pee evaporate, creating frustrations in your pee collecting efforts? Or, did you have a lid on the pee?
My final thought on this head scratcher is this, I never want to have someone else’s pee poured on me. Ever.

A Hot Lunch Can Turn Your Day Around
Some days when I am feeling well and truly uninspired by life in general I will try to shake myself out of my stupor by deliberately cooking myself a hot (and hopefully tasty) lunch. By putting some effort into myself, by deciding that it’s worth it to take a bit of extra time to give myself a warm and rewarding meal, I can often turn my whole day around.
Today was one of those days. Unfortunately, as Dom and I only arrived back in Canberra yesterday after a working-weekend away, there wasn’t exactly much in the house.
